About Sameena S. Syed
Bio
Driven. This word summarizes Dr. Syed’s approach to medicine and her patients. Growing up as a child of an optometrist, Dr. Syed always wanted a career centered on patient care. She is happy to be a physician and take her results-driven approach to assist her patients.
Dr. Syed selected internal medicine because she enjoys a comprehensive view of each patient and helping improve their daily quality of life. Her approach to patient care is two-fold. First, she focuses on understanding her patients’ concerns. Second, as needed, she considers the patient’s personal, cultural and religious preferences. With this knowledge, she collaborates with her patients to craft an individualized care plan best suited for each person.
As an internist, Dr. Syed is enthusiastic about preventative care as well as supporting patients through their illnesses. She likes serving as a resource and guiding her patients through all stages of adulthood. She shares, “I appreciate the trust my patients place in me and aim to aid them in setting and achieving their own health goals.”
Born and raised in Orange County, Dr. Syed is thrilled to return to be a part of Hoag Medical Group, which allows her the opportunity to provide her patients with excellent health care services. Dr. Syed received her undergraduate degree from the University of California Irvine and earned her medical degree from Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University. She then completed her Internal Medicine residency at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, affiliated with Case Western Reserve University.
Additionally, she is able to treat a diverse population as she has conversational skills in Spanish and Urdu. Outside of work, Dr. Syed spends her free time experimenting with cooking and ways to stay active.
